It's a Wonderful Lie Lyrics

(s. macdonald)
Why do I try - fighting against your indifference?
I always say it's ok - I was only lying the last time
You seem to want - to hear a song written about you
Better write it yourself - or it's not gonna be very flatteringIt's not how I need it
It's not how I planned it
It's not how I want it
But I got itI admit that it's lust - frees my mind from thinking
I'm not the last one - who'll fall to that emotion
I am nothing - that's what you would have me believing
Time to move on - to bigger and better disastersIt's not how I saw it
It's not how I need it
It's not how I want it
But I got itIt's all a game
My hearts a flame
No ground to gain
A speeding trainI always know when to quit - when I've overstayed my welcome
I'm not unbreakable - sorry if I gave that impression

I try to help you - but I'm left with a handful of rope burn
If I seem bitter - at least I've conveyed my emotionIt's not how I need it
It's not how I planned it
It's not how I want it
But I got itIt's all the same
I lose again
The cause to blame
A speeding trainA speeding train

Arcwelder are a Minneapolis trio who began under the moniker Tilt-a-Whirl in 1988. Drummer/singer Scott MacDonald was a veteran of the Minneapolis scene serving time in numerous bands including Red Letter Day and Velvet Elvis before hooking up with bassist/guitarist Rob Graber to form Arcwelder. Rob enlisted the services of his brother Bill Graber who promptly took up bass, guitar, and occasional singing.
