Jesus & Mary Lyrics

Come on, dear friends
Come gather 'round the mountain
Drink from the fountain
Tell your lovers it's time to goTell them the tale
When Sodom met Gomorrah
The end days are coming
The Mullah sent away the sunThe drummers drum and the motors hum
And the trumpet players make the chords
Sound awakes the devil down belowJesus and Mary
And Juliet and Romeo
In a movie on TV
That plays seven days a week
Turn off that radio
We don't wanna hear about it anymoreKill or be killed
The hunters and the hunted
Seems like we're runnin'
2000 years and still under controlSo let's go start a war
Like FDR and Eleanor

These are the ways of the men before
Ammunition and sermons and gunsLovers love and the motors moan
And the trumpet players blow the horns
Sounds wake the devil down belowJesus and Mary
And Juliet and Romeo
In a movie on TV
That plays seven days a week
Turn off that microphone
We don't wanna talk about it anymoreThe sermon ends with a big Amen
And the preachers take it door to door
Sound shakes the devil down belowJesus and Mary
And Juliet and Romeo
Are in a movie on TV
That plays seven days a week
Turn off that telephone
We don't wanna know about it anymoreSo maybe let's go start a war
