Jolene (Live Under Blackpool Lights) Lyrics

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
I'm begging of you,
Please don't take my manJolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
Please don't take him even though you canYour beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin
And eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
And your voice is soft like a summer rain
And I cannot compete with you Jolene
And he talks about you in his sleep
And there is nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name, JoleneJolene Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
I'm begging of you please don't take my manJolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
Please don't take him even though you canWell I could easily understand
How you could easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me Jolene
Well you could have your choice of men

But I could never love again
He's the only one for me Jolene
And I had to have this talk with you
My happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do JoleneJolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene,
I'm begging of you please don't take my man!
Jolene Jolene Jolene Jolene
Please don't take him even though you can.

The White Stripes were an alternative rock band, formed in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. They disbanded in 2011. The group consisted of songwriter Jack White (vocals, piano/keyboards, guitar) and Meg White (drums, vocals). After releasing several singles and three albums within the Detroit independent music underground, The White Stripes rose to prominence in 2002, as part of the garage rock revival scene. Their successful albums White Blood Cells and Elephant drew them attention from a large variety of media outlets in the United States and the United Kingdom.
