Jolene Lyrics

Jolene lyrics
by Dolly PartonJolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you, please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him even though you can.Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin
And eyes of emerald greenYour smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
I cannot compete with you, Jolenehe talks about you in his sleep
And there is nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name, JoleneJolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him even though you canWell I can easily understand
How you can easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me, JoleneWell you could have your choice of men
But I could never love again

He's the only one for me, JoleneAnd I had to have this talk with you
My happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do, JoleneJolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don't take him even though you can

The White Stripes were an alternative rock band, formed in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan, United States. They disbanded in 2011. The group consisted of songwriter Jack White (vocals, piano/keyboards, guitar) and Meg White (drums, vocals). After releasing several singles and three albums within the Detroit independent music underground, The White Stripes rose to prominence in 2002, as part of the garage rock revival scene. Their successful albums White Blood Cells and Elephant drew them attention from a large variety of media outlets in the United States and the United Kingdom.
