Jolly Mon Lyrics

There is a tale that the island people tell
Don't know if it is true but I love it so well
Jolly Mon sings for his supper every night
People fed him well 'cause he treated them so rightWoah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon, sing
(Jolly Mon)
Woah, woah, woah, woah, make Orion ring
(Jolly Mon)Well, they always like to go to the islands near and far
He always found his way by Orion lucky star
He'd tell them of their joys, tell them of their woes
They loved to see him come and they'd hate to see him goWoah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon, sing
(Jolly Mon)
Woah, woah, woah, woah, make the magic ring
(Jolly Mon)He was makin' his way home on a dark and stormy night
When he heard a cry for help and he saw a flashin' light
When he reached the other boat, offered them a hand
They said, Give us all your cargo, as they took a pirate standWoah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon, sing
(Jolly Mon)
Woah, woah, woah, woah, give 'em everything

(Jolly Mon)Jolly Mon, it's over, sing your last song very well
They tossed him in the ocean 'cause their hearts were made in Hell
Came along a dolphin, he said, Jolly Mon, hello
I've always loved your singing, climb aboard, don't let goWoah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon, sing
(Jolly Mon)
Woah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon, give 'em everything
(Jolly Mon)The night was filled with magic, they bid the sea goodbye
Swam into the heavens and they stayed up in the sky
And all the island people when they wish upon a star
See the dolphin and the Jolly Mon who tell them where they areWoah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon, sing
(Jolly Mon)
Woah, woah, woah, woah, give 'em everything
(Jolly Mon)Woah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon, sing
(Jolly Mon)
Woah, woah, woah, woah, make the magic ring
(Jolly Mon)Woah, woah, woah, woah
Woah, woah, woah, woah
Woah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon singWoah, woah, woah, woah
Woah, woah, woah, woah
Woah, woah, woah, woah, Jolly Mon sing

Jimmy Buffett (born December 25, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, United States) is a singer/songwriter, best known for his "island escapism" lifestyle and music including hits such as "Margaritaville" and "Come Monday". He has a rabid, but genial, cult following known as "Parrotheads." They call the youngest members "Parakeets."

Buffett has written three No. 1 best sellers. Tales from Margaritaville and Where Is Joe Merchant? both spent over seven months on the New York Times Best Seller fiction list. His book A Pirate Looks At Fifty went straight to No. 1 on the New York Times Bestseller non-fiction list, making him one of seven authors in that list's history to have reached No. 1 on both the fiction and non-fiction lists. The other six authors who have accomplished this are Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, William Styron, Irving Wallace, Dr. Seuss and Mitch Albom. He also co-wrote two children's books, Jolly Mon and Trouble Dolls, with his eldest daughter, Savannah Jane Buffett.

"A Salty Piece of Land", was released on November 30, 2004, and included a CD single of the same title. The book was a New York Times best seller soon after its release.

His latest book, "Swine Not," hit bookshelves on May 13th. It's a colorful tale about a family that lives in a posh New York hotel while covertly smuggling in their pet pig named Rumpy.

On Jan 25, 2011, he did an unintentional stage dive whilst touring Australia. Thankfully, the good Mr. Buffett is a resilient bloke and was released from hospital the following day and doing fine.
