Jonestown Lyrics

Sheep are running scared tonight
The cows are coming home
They cling together terrified
Afraid to be aloneThe bees are buzzing around their queen
Waiting for a word
Pathetic guys, I've ever seen
Collectively absurdThey're looking for Jesus, they're looking for more
Just what are they looking up here to me for
They're looking for someone, they're looking for Christ
They're looking for some human sacrifice
It looks like Jonestown (from here)
It looks like Jonestown
It looks like Jonestown (from here)
It looks like JonestownThey don't know who to run to
And they don't know where to go
Unless you tell them what to think
They don't know what they knowRepeating the commercial
Something they have heard

From someone, something, someone else
Somebody good with wordsI think they're looking for an answers, they're looking for more
Just what are they looking up here to me for
They're looking for Jesus, they're looking for Christ
They're looking for some human sacrifice
It looks like Jonestown
It looks like Jonestown (from here)
It looks like Jonestown
It looks like Jonestown (from here)They are looking for an answer, looking for more
Just what are you looking up here to me for
They're looking for Jesus, they're praying for Christ
They are looking for some human sacrifice
It looks like Jonestown
It looks like Jonestown (from here)
It looks like Jonestown
It looks like Jonestown (from here)
Jonestown
Jonestown
Jonestown
Jonestown

Concrete Blonde is an alternative rock band dating from the early 1980s to the early 1990s (and re-formed again in the 2000s). They are best known for the poignant songwriting and vocals of Johnette Napolitano. Singer / songwriter / bassist Napolitano formed the band Dream 6 with guitarist James Mankey in Los Angeles in 1982, releasing an eponymous EP in France on the Happy Hermit label in 1983. When they signed with IRS in 1986, labelmate Michael Stipe suggested the name Concrete Blonde, describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.
