Joy Across The Land Lyrics

You can tell the world about this you can tell the nations about that
Tell it to the sea and the sky
Tell it to the birds on the fly
Tell it to the breeze blowing by
That there is joy, joy, joy across the landWe saw a farmer working on his farm
We saw two lovers walking arm
From sea to sea and all across the land
We saw joy, joy, joy on every handYou can tell the world about this you can tell the nations about that
Tell it to the sea and the sky
Tell it to the birds on the fly
Tell it to the breeze blowing by
That there is joy, joy, joy across the land
You know that hard times happen to us all
And though our backs are up against the wall
Still we'd like for you to understand
There is joy, joy, joy on every handYou can tell the world about this you can tell the nations about that
Tell it to the waves on the shore
Tell it to the rich and the poor

Tell it to your neighbor next door
That there is joy, joy, joy across the landSo when you hear a newborn baby cry
Or when you watch the moon go sailing by
The time will come when you will understand
There is joy, joy, joy on every hand
You can tell the world about this you can tell the nations about that
Tell it to the sea and the sky
Tell it to the birds on the fly
Tell it to the breeze blowing by
Tell it to the rich and the poor
Tell it to your neighbor next door
Tell it every day more and more
That there is joy, joy, joy across the land

The Limeliters are a folk music group formed in July 1959 by Lou Gottlieb (bass), Alex Hassilev (baritone), and Glenn Yarbrough (tenor). The group was active from 1959 until 1965, when they disbanded. After a hiatus of sixteen years Yarbrough, Hassilev, and Gottlieb reunited and began performing as The Limeliters again. The Limeliters are still active and performing, but Hassilev, the last founding member active in the group, has retired, leaving the group to carry on without any of the original members.
