Jungle Youth Lyrics

I can't stop listening to this voice in my head
Got me turning through the covers on this rusty spring bed
Bust in the day's flames
Kissing my back
That's all I remember and then everything's black
You know, sounds so familiar
Some place high in my show
Hello transmission: now you're in controlI look up
I look down
Everybody's bigger than Holy Water
Ain't enough going around
Raise their cups
Wear their crowns
Just sitting on a ghost-stained altar
Feel the jungle youth sound, ooh ooh[Verse 2]
I woke in a fever taste the blood in my mouth
My eyes grew shiny purple and I'm riddled with doubt
It feels so peculiar, boiling hot in my soul

Farewell transmission: not made for this worldI look up
I look down
Everybody's bigger than Holy Water
Ain't enough going around
Raise their cups
Wear their crowns
Just sitting on a ghost-stained altar
Feel the jungle youth sound, ooh oohTonight, drifting off to sleep
Tonight must be having a bad dream

Young the Giant is an alternative rock band which formed in Irvine, California, United States in 2004. The band consists of Sameer Gadhia (vocals, percussion), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass) and François Comtois (drums). The band's name is purposefully nonsensical; Gadhia explained it as a "leftfield idea" meant to evoke curiosity.

The band released their debut self-titled album, Young the Giant, on 25 January 2011, which was preceded by a digital-only release in October 2010. The first single, "My Body," reached #5 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and a second single, "Cough Syrup," reached #3 on the same chart.

Previously, the band was known as The Jakes. They released a 7 song EP, Shake My Hand, in 2008, which including two songs ("Garands" and "Cough Syrup") now on the current self-titled album Young the Giant.
