Just You and Me Lyrics

First, I tried to kill it with a hammer
Thought that I could lose the head
Sure, we've eaten off the silver
When even food was against us
And then I tried to kill it in the bedSecond, I gagged it with a pillow
But awoke the nuns inside my head
They pounded their goddy, goddy fists
From the inside, so from the outside
I got good, I stuck it deadAnd thirdly, I put my lips upon it
And blew a frost a across it's flat
I wrote upon the outside surface
"Tonight we're on the outside surface""Just you and me girl, you and me and the fat
You and me and and fat
Just you and me and fat, fat, fat, fat"

The Birthday Party were an Australian post-punk band, from 1977 to 1983. Formed in Melbourne, the band were one of the darkest and most challenging post-punk groups to emerge in the early '80s, creating bleak and noisy soundscapes that provided the perfect setting for vocalist NIck Cave's difficult, disturbing stories of religion, violence, and perversity. Their sound drew upon punk, rockabilly, free jazz and the rawest blues, but transcended concise categorization.
