Kentucky Waltz Lyrics

We were waltzin' that night in Kentucky
'Neath the beautiful harvest moon
And I was the boy that was lucky
But it all ended too soonAs I sit here alone in the moonlight
I see your smiling face
And I long once more for your embrace
In that beautiful Kentucky waltzWe were waltzin' that night in Kentucky
Beneath that beautiful harvest moon
And I was the boy that was lucky
But it all ended too soonAs I sit here alone in the moonlight
I see your smiling face
And I long once more for your embrace
In that beautiful Kentucky waltz

Pete Drake was a major Nashville, Tennessee-based record producer and pedal steel guitar player. In 1964 he had an international hit on Smash Records with his "talking steel guitar" playing on the album 'Forever'. His innovative use of what would be called the "talk box" added novel effects to the pedal steel guitar. (Later used by artists Peter Frampton, Joe Walsh and Jeff Beck.)
