King of bongo Lyrics

Mama was queen of the Mambo
Papa was king of the Congo
Deep down in the jungle
I started bangin' my first bongoEvery monkey'd like to be
In my place instead of me
'Cause I'm the king of Bongo
I'm the king of Bongo BongKing of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong
I'm the king of the Bongo
King of the Bongo BongI went to the big town
Where there is a lot of sound
From the jungle to the city
Lookin' for a bigger crownI play my boogie
For the people of big city
But they don't go crazy
When I'm bangin' in my boogieI'm the king of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong
I'm the king of the Bongo

King of the Bongo Bong'Cause people like disco
And people like the house
That's why they don't applause
When I'm bangin' on my bongoThey say that I'm a clown
Makin' too much dirty sound
They say there is no crown
For little monkey in this townKing of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong
I'm the king of the Bongo
King of the Bongo BongNobody like to be
In my place instead of me
'Cause nobody go crazy
When I'm bangin' on my boogieBut I don't like no disco
And I don't like the house
'Cause I'm born to rock
I'm born to pogoKing of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong
King of the Bongo
King of the Bongo BongBangin' on my Bongo
All that swing belongs to me
I'm so happy there's nobody
In my place instead of meI'm a king without a crown
Hangin' loose in the big town
'Cause I'm born to rock
I'm born to pogoKing of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong
King of the Bongo
King of the Bongo BongKing of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong
I'm the king of the Bongo
King of the Bongo BongI'm the king of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong
I'm the king of the Bongo
King of the Bongo Bong

Mano Negra was a French/Spanish/Portuguese band fronted by Manu Chao, born in Paris, France to Spanish parents. The band was founded in 1987 by Manu, his brother Antoine, and his cousin Santiago Casiriego. It split circa 1995, but many members had already left in 1992. The band was formed from the fusion of 2 smallers bands, The Hot Pants and the Casse-pieds. Mano Negra mixed a number of styles: straight rock (with a lead guitar), latin music (with a brass section), punk (influenced by The Clash). Their songs often mixed French, Spanish and English lyrics.
