Meeting the kingpin, I'm slightly nervousPullman
Mr. paperman, I here to be your friend
But there's just certain rules here we can not bendPaperman how about the water? my cistern's flat.Pullman
Why sure, I come to take care of datChorus
But you gotta play by kinja rules

Forget about da tings you learned in school
We use a different box of tools
And you gotta play by kinja rulesPullman
Now dis alien ain't bonded for no gondolier
He's bonded for gardener-dat why he here
De chief of immigration a power in dis town
Chief find out-your hotel close downPaperman
Hereafter gardening's all he'll do I didn't know, I swear to youPullman
Doan' hoross yourself, it's okay mister
De chief of immigration-she's my sisterChorus
But you gotta play by kinja rules
Forget about that civics course you learned in school
We ain't city folks, but we ain't fools
And you gotta play by kinja rulesPullman
Stop!Paperman
How about my water?Pullman
Hold you hosses I come to dat
Look at da chambermaid, she mighty fat
And if dat alien have her baby here
Dat baby an american, free and clear
De secretary of interior, he gonna rave
And dat baby on your record
From da cradle to da grave
Your responsibility-i doan mean maybe
Da bottom line sir, dat your babyChorus
You gotta play by kinja rules
Forget about da tings you learned in school
We use a simple box of tools
And you gotta play by kinja rulesPaperman
I'll send her away-but this club's bone dryPullman
No problem, lots of watah you can buyPaperman
Buy water, senator?
That's your advice?Pullman
Chief of public works give you a special pricePaperman
Chief of public works
Who's he-your brother?Pullman
Ha ha, not bad she's lorna's motherChorus
So you gotta play by kinja rules
Forget about da tings you learned in school
We use a different box of tools
And you gotta play by kinja rulesPaperman
Senator, I thank you.
Now one thing's clear
I've got to hire a kinjan gondolierPullman
Now dat a problem-Paperman
What's the reasonPullman
No unemployment-it's high season
Can't hire no kinjan to wear dis hatPaperman
And I can't use an alien?Pullman
Don't ask datPaperman
You've been a great help, sir-you've got my vote
Just tell me-who's going to row that boat?Pullman
You gotta play by kinja rules
Forget about da tings you learned in school
Just take it easy, play it cool
But be sure toPaperman joins pullmanPlay by kinja rulesExtra chorus
You gotta play by kinja rules
Forget about that civics course you learned in school
God watches out for drunks and fools
But forget the ten commandments here
Kinja rules

Jimmy Buffett (born December 25, 1946 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, United States) is a singer/songwriter, best known for his "island escapism" lifestyle and music including hits such as "Margaritaville" and "Come Monday". He has a rabid, but genial, cult following known as "Parrotheads." They call the youngest members "Parakeets."

Buffett has written three No. 1 best sellers. Tales from Margaritaville and Where Is Joe Merchant? both spent over seven months on the New York Times Best Seller fiction list. His book A Pirate Looks At Fifty went straight to No. 1 on the New York Times Bestseller non-fiction list, making him one of seven authors in that list's history to have reached No. 1 on both the fiction and non-fiction lists. The other six authors who have accomplished this are Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, William Styron, Irving Wallace, Dr. Seuss and Mitch Albom. He also co-wrote two children's books, Jolly Mon and Trouble Dolls, with his eldest daughter, Savannah Jane Buffett.

"A Salty Piece of Land", was released on November 30, 2004, and included a CD single of the same title. The book was a New York Times best seller soon after its release.

His latest book, "Swine Not," hit bookshelves on May 13th. It's a colorful tale about a family that lives in a posh New York hotel while covertly smuggling in their pet pig named Rumpy.

On Jan 25, 2011, he did an unintentional stage dive whilst touring Australia. Thankfully, the good Mr. Buffett is a resilient bloke and was released from hospital the following day and doing fine.
