Knocking Down Our Home (Remastered) Lyrics

Your heart is in your home they say
Your home's where you belong
But someone stole my heart today
So listen to my songI heard the news today
They're going to move us far away
Seems that our home must go
They're going to build a motorwayIt isn't fair, nobody cares
They're knocking down our home
Ruining all we own
They're knocking down our home
Please help us
Don't let them take our homeMa's cooking at the stove
Where she's cooked for thirty years
Ten thousand meals she's cooked
But now her eyes are filled with tears

Badfinger was a rock/pop (or "power pop") band that orginated in mid-60s pop bands around Swansea, Wales. Adopting the name Badfinger in 1969, the band was touted as the 'heir apparent' to The Beatles, in part because of their close working relationship with the "Fab Four." Badfinger's meteoric rise and demise (marked by the suicides of founder-member and leader Peter Ham on 24 April 1975, and later of band-member Tom Evans on November 19, 1983) remains a cautionary tale for the rock music industry.
