Land of the Long White Cloud Lyrics
I was having a drink at the bar, the flight had been delayed,
Talking to this angel sitting next to me about the music being played
She said I’ve listened to your accent and wondered where you called home
How come you’re here all by yourself you look so very much alone
Well I smiled and said this big city life's been weighing so heavy on my mind
I was sitting here reminiscing about a place that I’ve left behind
They say home is where the heart is and that is something I don’t try to hide
And where ever I roam I compare it to home and my heart fills with pride
My land is clean and green and I have to say my favourite colour is black
There’s not a day goes by I don’t think about think about going back
And I tell more than anything else the thing that makes me so proud
Is that I was born and I was raised in the Land of The Long White Cloud
And there I greet the morning I could smell flowers and there treat
And feel the soft the rest of the week of the soothing summer breeze
The quiet sounds of the countryside just memories in my mind
And the thoughts come flooding in of another place and another time
My land is clean and green and I have to say my favourite colour is black
There’s not a day go by I don’t think about think about going back
And I tell you more than anything else the thing that makes me proud
Is that I was born and I was raised in the Land of The Long White Cloud
Instrumental
My land is clean and green and I have to say my favourite colour is black
There’s not a day go by I don’t think about think about going back
And I tell you more than anything else the thing that makes me proud
Is that I was born and I was raised in the Land of The Long White Cloud
Ohh and if I die throw over me a silver fern printed on a long black shroud
And ship me back to the place I love the Land of The Long White Cloud
