Last Four Nickels Lyrics

I took my last four nickels
Put 'em into the telephone
Tryin' to call my baby
But she's not at homeBaby, what you tryin' to do to me, girl?
I wanna show you girl
Oh, the best things in life are freeI took my last hundred dollars
And I bought a gold ring
She said it ain't got no diamond
It won't mean a thingHey baby, what you tryin' to do to me?
I wanna show you girl
Oh, the best things in life are free
AwI took my last two hundred dollars
And I bought a Cadillac
She said it sho' looks good
But they wanna take it backHey baby, what you tryin' to do to me, girl?
I wanna show you girl
Oh, the best things in life are freeI took my last four nickels
Put 'em into the telephone

Tryin' to call my baby
But she's not at homeHey baby, what you tryin' to do to me?
I wanna show you girl
Oh, the best things in life are free
Oh
