Laugh Kills Lonesome Lyrics

All around the campfire stood seven dusty men
The cook was drinking applejack, the cattle were all penned
Someone must have cracked a wise one because the men began to grin
Their smiles shot out like sunbeams and made the night give in
BecauseLaugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it
And why it looks so fine
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
Roy and Dale and Pecos Bill, they knew all about this
So did Walt and Hasui, who gave it their own twist
Sometimes, when things can't get much worse and life's become a fist
Someone will crack a wise one and laughter works like this, huh-huhLaugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it
And why it looks so fine
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
Laugh kills lonesome every single time
That's why Charlie Russell painted it in the first place
And why it looks so fine

Laugh kills lonesome every single timeLaugh kills lonesome
Laugh kills lonesome
Laugh kills lonesome every single time

Robert Michael Nesmith (born December 30, 1942) is an American singer-songwriter and musician, perhaps best known as a member of The Monkees. A pioneer of country rock, Nesmith notably composed "Different Drum", a hit for Linda Ronstadt (by way of The Stone Poneys). In 1981, Nesmith won the inaugural Grammy Award for Video of the Year for Elephant Parts, a "video record" consisting of humorous sketches and visual representations of songs, breaking new ground for the concept of music videos, which would shortly become ubiquitous with the advent of MTV.
