Lay Your Money Down Lyrics

Put your cards on the table
Gotta lay your money down
Show your heart if you're able
Gotta lay your money downI've waited long enough
This time I'm gonna call your bluff
And see what you got
And what you been keepin' from meGirl, if you really mean it
Put your lovin' on the line
'Cause if I've never seen it
How am I gonna know it's mineBaby, I'm through
With nothin' but talk from you
Gotta lay your money downAll these moves you been makin'
Like a game of keep away
I've had all I'm a-takin'
It's catchin' up to you today'Cause baby, I'm through
With nothin' but talk from you
Gotta lay your money down

Bread was a 1970s rock and roll band from Los Angeles, California. They are a prime example of what later was labeled as "soft rock." David Gates (guitar, keyboards, bass and vocals) and Jimmy Griffin (guitar and vocals) formed the group in 1968, adding Robb Royer (guitar, bass and vocals of Pleasure Faire) before signing to Elektra Records. Bread, the band's debut album as a trio, was a failure.
