Let Go Of The Rope Lyrics

Aww, yeah
Let go of the rope
I wanna hold on but I gotta let go of the rope
It's all in my hands but my heart keeps telling me no
Let go of the ropeDon't wanna play tug of war no more
even out the score
This blistered soul needs time to mend
Slippin & slidin just tryin to get a better gripLet go of the rope
I wanna hold on but I gotta let go of the rope
It's all in my hands but my heart keeps tellin me no, noLet go of the ropeCrossing this line that's been drawn in the sand
over & over & back over again
Diggin in deeper with all the strength I got leftAww, let go of the ropeOh, I gotta let goI knowLet go of the ropeOh, I wanna hold on but I gotta let go of the ropeIt's all in my hands but my heart keeps telling me no, no, noJust lay it down
Walk away
Leave it alone no, no
Yeah, let go of the rope
mmmmm

Steve Azar was born and raised in Greenville, Mississippi at the entrance to the Mississippi Delta. His mother was raised above the family grocery store located on Highway 61 in Clarksdale, MS near the infamous “Crossroads”. “The Crossroads” is the intersection of Route 61 and Route 49, or the 61/49 split as they call it there, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, made famous in the Robert Johnson song, “Cross Road Blues”. This is where Delta Blues legend Robert Johnson supposedly sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for mastery of the blues, or so the story goes.
