Derek Marin was born & raised in New York City. He developed a passion for music early on, playing the drums at age 9. Being influenced by groups like Depeche Mode, New Order, The Smiths, he started playing in bands at age 14. During this time he also started to build his production & DJ skills, taking charge of the recording, mixing, & editing aspects at home and in the studio. He also began to experiment with keyboards & other instruments.
