Lie Before You Leave Lyrics

I know it's over I won't hide from that
Once that door closes you won't be coming back
I've only one favor left to ask of you
If your heart's not hurting tooLie before you leave and tell me we were something
Say that leaving me will be your great regret
Say it sweet enough that one day we'll feel like it was love that we made
Do this thing for me, set my mind at ease, lie before you leaveI never doubted you made me believe
That deep down inside you really cared for me
But if that was just some kind of spell you weaved that's fine
As long as you work that magic one more timeLie before you leave and tell me we were something
Say that leaving me will be your great regret
Say it sweet enough that one day it feel like it was love that we made
Do this thing for me, set my mind at ease, lie before you leaveLie before you leave and tell me we were something
Say that leaving me will be your great regret
Say it sweet enough that one day we'll feel like it was love that we made
Do this thing for me, set my mind at ease, lie before you leave
Lie before you leave

Montgomery Gentry is a country music duo, founded in the 1990s, consisting of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. Eddie Montgomery is the older brother of John Michael Montgomery. Some sources say that Troy Gentry is the son of Bobbie Gentry, which is untrue. Troy's parents are Lloyd and Pat Gentry. Eddie, Troy, and John were in a band called Early Tymz. Eddie and Troy continued to perform after John left to pursue a solo career. The duo went through several name changes before they decided to call themselves Montgomery Gentry. Eddie Montgomery is bald and seemingly always wears a hat. Eddie also has a habit of twirling his microphone on stage, which has become somewhat of a signature.

The band has released five CDs including "Some People Change" which was released in 2006
