Life Begins At the Hop Lyrics

I have learnt there's a magical spot at the hop
Come with me to the church on the corner, the hop
There's nuts and crisps and there's c-c-cola on tap
A good time had by those boys and those girls at the hopTell me what do you say?
(Tell me what do you say?)
Tell me what do you say?
I tell you, life begins at the hop, boys and girlsPrepare yourself for the boys in the band at the hop
The cheap guitars, they're too young for the bars at the hop
We'll jive around, make fools of ourselves, well then stop
We're back next week with another ridiculous tie knotTell me what do you say?
(Tell me what do you say?)
Tell me what do you say?
I tell you, life begins at the hop, boys and girlsTell me what do you say?
(Tell me what do you say?)
Tell me what do you say?
(Tell me what do you say?)
I tell you, life begins at the hop, boys and girlsI have learnt there's a magical spot at the hop
Come with me to the church on the corner the hop

There's nuts and crisps and there's c-c-cola on tap
A good time had by those boys and those girls at the hopTell me what do you say?
(Tell me what do you say?)
Tell me what do you say?
I tell you, life begins at the hop
Life begins at the hop
Life begins at the hop, boys and girls

XTC were an influential rock band (starting out as a post-punk outfit but eventually developing into a sound that was a mix of new wave and alternative/college rock) which formed Swindon, England in 1972. For most of their career, the band consisted of Andy Partridge (vocals, guitar), Colin Moulding (vocals, bass) and Dave Gregory (guitar, keyboards). Gregory replaced founding keyboardist Barry Andrews in 1979 and left himself in 1999.
