Life's One Act Play Lyrics

My days are shaded gray
And my nights are shaded blue
My face is lined with worry
And my mind is split in twoFeel just like a man
Who's last real hope is gone
Morality and religion
Didn't teach me right from wrongAnd I need a little something
Oh, just to mellow my days
'Cause I'm getting tired of acting
In lifes one act playThe world is changing fast
Ain't got time to think twice
Wanna keep on the ball
Then you got to pay the priceYou can't judge the future
By looking at the past
And there ain't nobody out there
Who you can stop and askOh, I need a little something
Just to mellow my days
'Cause I'm getting tired of acting

In lifes one act playSome people think, oh yes, they do
They found the way
But they're a dime a dozen
You can see them everydaySome people are happy
In their delusions
Oh, I wish sometimes
I could share, I could share their illusionsBut nobody really knows
What this life is all about
Those who think they do
Are the ones who should have doubtsSometimes I wonder
What they are going to do
When their cozy dreams are shattered
And reality shows throughOh, I need a little something
Just to mellow my days
'Cause I'm getting tired of acting
In lifes one act playAnd I need a little something
Just to mellow my days
'Cause I'm getting tired of acting
In lifes one act playIn lifes one act play
In lifes one act play
In lifes one act play

Savoy Brown is a British blues band formed in the 1960s, originally known as the Saveloy Brown Blues Band. Their 1969 single, Train to Nowhere (with singer Chris Youlden), was viewed by many as the last gasp of the blues scene in Great Britain. Although Savoy Brown never reached much acclaim in their home nation, they developed a loyal core following in the United States. In the 1960s and 1970s, the band managed to penetrate the Billboard Hot 100.
