Like a Stranger Lyrics

Listen, to reason
It was you
Who went away
Living, together
Was never easy
In any case
I had to live
With you not there
Now you're coming back
My greatest fear
No, no, no,no,no
You're like a stranger
So many ways
You haven't changed
No,no,no,no, no
I feel in danger
When will you be
The same again?

You've been too long in the institution
You've been too long in the institution
You've been too long in the institution
You've been too long in the institution
I wrote letters oh my
I didn't get no reply
That got me thinking
You must be seeing some other guy
So high
I couldn't get over
Too wide, I couldn't
Get around
So low, I couldn't get under
So I just sit and wonder
No,no,no,no,no
You're like a stranger
So many ways
You haven't changed
No,no,no,no,no
I feel in danger
When will you be the same again?........
You've been too long in the institution
You've been too long in the institution
You've been too long in the institution
You've been too long in the institution
It's too high, it's too wide, I don't know
My left from my left side
Where did I go wrong?
Oh god, what have I done?

Fine Young Cannibals were an English band best known for their 1989 hits "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing". According to the Good Thing Songfacts Fine Young Cannibals rose from the ashes of the UK band The Beat . When the band broke up in 1983, bassist David Steele and guitarist Andy Cox went on to form FYC with a new vocalist, actor/model Roland Gift whom they carefully chose after eight months of listening to cassettes. Their name came from the 1960 film All The Fine Young Cannibals starring Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood.
