Lineage - A Scribe Amidst the Lions

"San Diego band A Scribe Amidst The Lions might be a front runner in the pretentious-name sweepstakes, but musically they’re nothing short of fascinating, combining squalling, metallic-like guitars with surprisingly delicate, Radiohead-like vocals and off-kilter time signatures to produce music more truly psychedelic than a truckload of paisley-shirted retro acts. Their debut full-length TELL does a fine job of capturing this, but live ASATL really get the chance to stretch out, weaving strains of melody through intricate walls of sound.
