Listen Lyrics

I know that it's seeming sometimes that no matter what you do
No matter how hard you work
Struggle to make things better in your life
For some reason you're not getting nowhere
Well I want you to turn to the one next to you and tell himYou tried your way
It didn't work, no
You put Him second
And put you first
You trusted friends
Thought they had your back
And every time you turn around
It seems you're under attack, yeah yeah yeah
But turn to your neighbour and say
See the devil is a liar
No, I'm not gon' die
It's okay to cry
'Cause He's by your side
You gotta stop that hatin'

I know you don't wanna hear it
Gotta fast and pray and listen to the Spirit
(God's tryna tell me something)
He's speaking to your heart right now
(God's tryna tell me something)
Just listen to the Spirit, oh
(God's tryna tell me something)
Hold up, shh
(Listen)
Hm, you lost your job
Your bills are due
And all the people you helped
Did not want to help you
I talked to my mother
(She said pray about it)
I talked to my pastor
(And he said pray about it)
But I was so blinded
I own my disasterI wish you would just turn to your neighbor
Turning for me
See the devil is a lia
No, you're not gon' die
It's okay to cry (neighbor)
'Cause He's by your side
You gotta stop that hatin'
I know you don't wanna hear it
Gotta fast and pray and listen to the Spirit
(God's tryna tell me something)
He's speaking to your heart right now
(God's tryna tell me something)
Just listen to the Spirit, oh
(God's tryna tell me something)
Hold up, shh
(Listen) ey ey, oh ohI did everything I could to take away my trouble
And everything I tried did not stop my struggle
Just doing me everyday
Guess I was in my own way
But I'm here to tell you, without His grace I'm a major failure
So if you got problems
Know that you can't fix it
Just give it to Jesus, oh can I get a witness
And tell him say
That the devil is a liar
You gotta listen to the Spirit
Woah(God's tryna tell you something)
Shh, shh, shh
Yes He is, He's trying to get your attention right now
(God's tryna tell you something)
I know you got your own plan, but God's got a better one
(God's tryna tell you something)
Shh, listen
Hm
God's tryna tell you something
(Tell me, can you hear it)
God's tryna tell you something
(Listen to the Spirit)
God's tryna tell you something
Shh, listen, ye ye ye
God's tryna tell you something
(Tell me, can you hear it)
God's tryna tell you something
(Listen to the Spirit)
God's tryna tell you something
Shh, listenYou tried your way
It didn't work, no
You put Him second
And put you first

Singing since age four, Marvin Sapp has shared the stage with many gospel notables and his gift is celebrated across musical genres. While he has enjoyed a decorated music ministry receiving Stellar Awards, Gospel Music Excellence Award as well as Grammy, Soul Train Music and Dove Award Nominations, he has also been honored in his hometown of Grand Rapids Michigan. Recognized for his professional and philanthropic efforts, Pastor Sapp has received the city’s highest African American honor, a Giants Award , as well as the Frederick Douglas award from the National Association of Negro and Professional Women’s Club.

Not complacent, yet pressing towards the mark currently as Founder and Senior Pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church, one of the fastest growing churches in Western Michigan, Marvin is innovative in his approach to winning the lost and edifying the believer. As a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Pastor Marvin is committed to his community and enjoys taking the message to the masses. In its inaugural year, the ministry has initiated a Full Life approach with an emphasis of addressing the spiritual, physical and mental needs of the body. By no means is Pastor Marvin and the Lighthouse family resting on its laurels or taking credit for the well-rounded and effective ministry approach. In fact, with humility, they acknowledge they have found the formula for a successful ministry based on the Bible and cultivated through an intimate relationship with God.

Pastor Marvin is united in covenant to First Lady MaLinda Sapp, a gifted speaker, local
college professor and Limited Licensed Psychologist, who also serves as Administrative Pastor. They have three wonderful children; Marvin II, Mikaila and Madisson.
