Listen to the Hoofbeat Lyrics

Listen to the hoofbeat
Spirit coming alive
Listen to the hoofbeat
Bringing together tribes
Listen to the hoofbeat
New blood on the plains
Listen to the hoofbeat
Shaking off ancient pains
Listen to the medicine man
He hasn't been heard for years
Listen to the medicine man
Call a wiping of tears
Listen to the hoofbeatMother earth been too long crying
Mothers' wounds too great to bear
Mothers' children finally rising
New blood everywhereListen to the hoofbeat
Listen to the hoofbeatIn Pine Ridge, South Dakota
Mending the sacred hoop

Far away from the cities
Never again to bow or stoopListen to the hoofbeat
Ghosts of Wounded Knee
Listen to the hoofbeat
Setting the spirits free
Mother earth been too long crying
Mothers' wounds too great to bear
Mothers' children finally rising
New blood everywhereListen to the hoofbeat
Listen to the hoofbeatListen

Luka Bloom (born 23 May 1955 as Barry Moore) is an accomplished Irish folk-rock singer-songwriter. He is also the younger brother of Irish folk singer Christy Moore. In order to avoid the pressure of being related to Christy Moore, Bloom adopted his pseudonym. "Luka" is taken from the title of Suzanne Vega's song "Luka" about child abuse and "Bloom" refers to the main character in James Joyce's Ulysses. Bloom is, however, very forthcoming about being Moore's brother and does not hide behind his stage name.
