Little Italy Lyrics

Can't you hear the parade?
Somebody's callin' the name
They're on the sidewalk
And all the people turn their heads to seeAh mama, am I holding
On to the wings of a prayer
Waitin' for Rosie
Tell me do you think she cares?Ah, dancin' in the streets, in little Italy
Ah, they're all dancin' in the streets, in little ItalyI'm an old woman
And your old enough to live your own life
But stay out of the barrels
The boys are seein' you with the clownsAh but Rosie
She's gotta rainbow 'round her shoulder
You better not lose her
Wild flowers make her heart singAh, they're dancin' in the streets, in little Italy
Ah, they're are dancin' in the streets, in little ItalyAh, they're all dancin' in the streets, in little Italy
Ah, they're are dancin' in the streets, in little Italy

For those who don't know, The Senators were a British band who were around in the late 80s and early 90s, and consisted of two brothers - Mick and Jim Kitson. Their music is not always easy to classify - I've heard it described as various things, from pop to soul to folk, and in truth there are Senators songs which fit into all of those categories. Unlike a lot of music from that period however, their records don't seem horribly dated today, so if it didn't sound so toe-curlingly pretentious, I'd describe their music as 'timeless'.
