Little Sister Lyrics

Little sisterMama's nest is empty, all the babies grown and gone
And you're talking, I can hear me, you should hear you
Look into a younger face that used to be my own
Years apart they make it harder to be near youLittle sister
Little sisterAll the times you couldn't tell her how you miss her
But I'm only half a heart away
Over all the time and distance I am where you are
And I love you, above all we're flesh and bloodLittle sister
Little sisterAll along the way the road gets turned and twisted
And it hurts some, yeah, you know it hurts some
Trying to find your way home

Concrete Blonde is an alternative rock band dating from the early 1980s to the early 1990s (and re-formed again in the 2000s). They are best known for the poignant songwriting and vocals of Johnette Napolitano. Singer / songwriter / bassist Napolitano formed the band Dream 6 with guitarist James Mankey in Los Angeles in 1982, releasing an eponymous EP in France on the Happy Hermit label in 1983. When they signed with IRS in 1986, labelmate Michael Stipe suggested the name Concrete Blonde, describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.
