Local Long Distance Relationship (LA2NY) Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Trying to get back,
back to the place that we were.
Pure and dangerous,
always just us versus the world.
When we dated,
never a care on our minds.
Broke in place and
never the time to make the time.[Pre-Chorus]
I had the damnedest day,
you don't hear what I say,
your head's up in the clouds.
I'm sitting next to you,
in the exact same room,
we're right here in LA.[Chorus]
It's like you're in New York
LA to New York
LA to New York

It feels so far-ah-ah-ah-ar
LA to New York
LA to New York
Are we that apar-ar-ar-ar-art?[Verse 2]
"Whether we can", keys to the cubicle,
gold, tees, and sweat pants,
they guarantee to keep it cold.
Feel the the distance, miles apart,
in our beds they persist and
gotta get out, inside our heads.[Pre-Chorus]
I had the damnedest day,
you don't hear what I say,
your head's up in the clouds.
I'm sitting next to you,
in the exact same room,
we're right here in LA.[Chorus]
It's like you're in New York
LA to New York
LA to New York
It feels so far-ah-ah-ah-ar
LA to New York
LA to New York
Are we that apar-ar-ar-ar-art?
I know its hard to say just what this is,
a local long distance relationship.
I know its hard to say just what this is,
a local long distance relationship.[Break]
Come back, to me.
Come back, to me.
Come back, to me.
Come back, to me.
Come back, to me.
Come back, to me.
Come ba~a~ack[Chorus]
It's like you're in New York
LA to New York
LA to New York
It feels so far-ah-ah-ah-ar
It's like you're in New York
LA to New York
LA to New York
It feels so far-ah-ah-ah-ar

"Saint Motel makes chic and sprightly music with hints of ironic malevolence. On “Voyeur,” the group’s first full-length release, the guitars clang briskly while the vocals ascend from high tenor to outright falsetto. Sometimes, a sample, shout or horn-section riff will enter to bounce an already airborne song even higher. The band members have a strong sense of style: The way singer-guitarist A/J Jackson and his cohorts inject Caribbean lilts, stomping beats and lounge-jazz licks into giddy power-pop suggests that they’ve carefully studied the Undertones’ brilliant 1981 album...
