Lonely Street Lyrics

I walk a lonely path, one that must look down and laugh
And if this is your epitaph, you're not aloneI walk a lonely road, ruled by some unrigid code
And no one here can ease the load
You're on your ownI walk a lonely beat, tears like rain upon the street
why can't they wash away my destiny?
I'm all aloneI walk a lonely lane, why no one know spride nor shame
No one here remembers their own name
They're all aloneI walk a lonely street, and in the shadows you can see
A thousand faces, just like me
We're not alone
I walk a lonely street, I walk a lonely street
I walk alone

Gene Vincent, real name Vincent Eugene Craddock, (February 11, 1935 – October 12, 1971) was an American rockabilly pioneer musician, best known for his hit Be-Bop-A-Lula. He performed with his backing band, the Blue Caps. After Be-Bop-A-Lula had become a huge hit (peaking at #7 and spending 20 weeks in the Billboard Pop Chart), Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps (often mis-named as 'the' Blue Caps) were unable to follow it up with the same level of commercial success, but released critically acclaimed songs like Race With The Devil (#96 in Billboard) and Bluejean Bop (#49).
