Loraine Lyrics

Hold me
Long enough to tell me
What you told me
Long ago
Before you got to know me
Only when lovers try
They learn to talk it out
To keep their love alive
That's the only way, I say
That love survives
It's time we try
Loraine
Won't you show the way
Hearts that bend won't break
If they learn to face the truth now
Show me how
Loraine
I know you feel the same

Hold me now
I don't know what to say
I'm so in love with you
Loraine
Talk to me
Isn't that the way they say you lie to me
But what's the use if we end up a memory
Remembering our honesty
I always thought that's what you want of me
But now the truth has made you turn your back on me
Can't you see
Loraine
Won't you show the way
Hearts that bend won't break
When they learn to face the truth now
Show me how
Loraine
I know you feel the same
Hold me now
I don't know what to say
I'm so in love with you
Loraine
I've got to find a way
I beg you babe
I need to hear you say
You love me
If I have the chance
I won't let you go
I'll stay by your side
I'll be lovin' you darlin'
And for all of my life
I will let you know
You're my only love
Just believe in me darlin'
Look in my eyes
I swear this is true
If you want it
You got it
I promise you, Loraine
Loraine
Won't you show the way
Hearts that bend won't break
When they learn to face the truth now
Show me how
Loraine
I know you feel the same
Hold me now
I don't know what to say
I'm so in love with you
Loraine
Won't you show the way
Hearts that bend won't break
When they learn to face the truth now
Show me how
Loraine
I know you feel the same
Hold me now
I don't know what to say
I'm so in love with you
Loraine
I swear, I love you
I always will
This kind of feeling never came to me until Loraine
I swear, I love you
I always will
This kind of feeling never came to me until Loraine

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Kenny Loggins was born in Everett, WA, and moved to Los Angeles in his teens. He got a job as a staff writer and wrote four songs used on a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album in 1970, among them the hit "House at Pooh Corner." This brought him to the attention of former Poco member Jim Messina, now a staff producer at CBS, who intended to produce Loggins' debut album. The two ended up in a duo, however, and Loggins & Messina made a series of successful albums during the '70s.

Loggins & Messina broke up in 1976, and Loggins went on to solo stardom with such million-selling albums as Celebrate Me Home, Nightwatch (which included the hit "Whenever I Call You Friend"), and Keep the Fire, all in the cheerful, sensitive style he had displayed in Loggins & Messina. Loggins also became known as the king of the movie soundtrack song, scoring Top Ten hits with "I'm Alright" (from Caddyshack), "Footloose" (from Footloose), "Danger Zone" (from Top Gun), and "Nobody's Fool" (from Caddyshack II). His own albums sold less well (and came less frequently) throughout the '80s, with later efforts like 1991's Leap of Faith, 1997's The Unimaginable Life and 1998's December finding favor primarily in adult contemporary circles; in 1994, he also issued a children's album, Return to Pooh Corner, and released its sequel More Songs from Pooh Corner in early 2000.
