Love Forgot Lyrics

Learn to love and you'll learn to survive
My mistake was thinking love wouldn't catch me
It was the story of my lifeI awakened seeing with new eyes
I begged forgiveness but love wouldn't hear me
Taught you to fear me, babyLove forgot we used to be just fine
And love forgot about the tender times
Love forgot to ask you if you'd want to give me
Give me one more try, maybe love forgot this time
(This time)Love can't love someone who breaks a vow
But I was not myself, my heart wasn't in it
I still loved you every minuteI could fix it if you show me how
You didn't hear it from somebody else, I told you
Praying you'd let me hold you(I can't believe)
Love forgot the power to forgive
(Impossible)
And love forgot that we depend on it
(It couldn't be)
Love forgot that it's the only way

Our poetry will ever rhyme
I think that love forgot this time
(This time)But who would have ever known
I'd ever be tempted, but I'm hoping'
Love will show me what to do
'Cause if it was all so easy
Then anybody else could've shown me
I don't understand how you wouldn't know
I never even meant it(I can't believe)
Did love forget this was the only time?
(Impossible)
Did love forget I've tried to set things right?
(It couldn't be)
Did love forget to remember?
That regret lives in this heart of mine
Maybe love forgot this time, oh yeah(I can't believe)
Love forgot the power to forgive
(Impossible)
And love forgot that we depend on it
(It couldn't be)
Love forgot that it's the only way
That poetry will ever rhyme
Maybe love forgot this time
(This time)
You are my, my loveDid you forget this time?
(Yeah)
Did you forget this time?
(My, my, my, my tell me that don't love)
Don't forget me now
(Love I'm asking, all love, all love)
Don't forget me now
(I know better my love)
Did you forget somehow?
(Tell me)
Did you forget somehow?

Luther Ronzoni Vandross (April 20, 1951 - July 1, 2005) was an american soul and rnb singer whose career spanned four decades.

In the 70s, he worked as a backing singer Chic and for David Bowie (on the Young Americans album). He later found success as a solo artist with Superstar and A House Is Not A Home.

In the 80s, Vandross was a vocalist on early Change singles (Searching), whilst continuing his solo career with such releases as "Never Too Much", "Power Of Love/Love Power", "If Only For One Night", "Here And Now".

In the 90s, he was more famous for duets with Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey (amongst others), than for his solo work.

It was an ongoing battle with his weight that may have ultimately proved his undoing. He suffered a stroke in 2003, from which he never really recovered, and died in 2005.

During his career, he sold 25 million albums and won eight Grammy awards including Best Male R&B Vocal Performance four times. He won four Grammy awards in 2004, including the Grammy Award for Song of the Year for the track "Dance With My Father," co-written with Richard Marx.
