Love Is Melancholy, But It's All We've Got Lyrics

Shutter your eyes
Calm the ringing in your ear
Steady your breath, honey
Let weight your spear
We've been over this before
We both know we on a war
But the battlefield's bloodless and vacant
Still, the belfry tolls
Every hour
On the hour
It's gettting louder
Like some ancient and foreboding
Harbinger of what's to come
What's to come
Just another cumbersome
Argument over something older than the sunThere's time left on the clock
But our loom's completely shut
We're tied up and tangled in knots

And the troubled tales
We've been weaving
With hidden meaning
They're a bit deceiving
I'm under no illusion
Love is melancholy but it's all we got
Yeah, love is all we got
It's all we've got
It might be all you need
But it's all we've got
Oh, love is all we've gotSkip ahead to the last text
Study each and every line
Look me in the eye and tell me
I'm not left behind
We both knew this wasn't easy
There are ruts in every road
Honey, dancing is delicate and demandingAnd I can't shake
This nagging feeling
That we both needing
A little healing
I'm under no illusion
Love is melancholy but it's all we got
Yeah, love is all we got
It's all we've got
It might be all you need
But it's all we've got
Oh, this magnetic rocket's all we've got
Honey, love
Oh, love is all we've got

VANDAVEER is the alt-folk song-singing/record making/globetrotting project penned and put forth by Washington DC-by-way-of-Kentucky tunesmith Mark Charles Heidinger. Vandaveer’s debut album, Grace & Speed, a mostly live, stripped down affair, swiftly entered this great big dusty world in the spring of 2007. The press responded heartily, with The Washington Post saying Vandaveer “revives the earnestness of the pre-psychedelic 60’s,” and XM Cafe calling him “this generation’s Nick Drake.”
