Love and Marriage Lyrics

Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
This I tell you brother
You can't have one without the otherLove and marriage, love and marriage
It's an institute you can't disparage
Ask the local gentry
And they will say it's elementaryTry, try, try to separate them
It's an illusion
Try, try, try and you will only come
To this conclusion
Love and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one, you can't have none
You can't have one without the otherLove, love, love, love and marriage
Try, try, try to separate them
It's an illusion
Try, try, try and you will only come

To this conclusionLove and marriage, love and marriage
Go together like a horse and carriage
Dad was told by mother
You can't have one, you can't have none
You can't have one without the other
Love and marriage, love and marriage
Love and, and, no you can't have one, you can't have none
You can't have one without the other
Love and marriage

The McGuire Sisters were an American singing trio, the group consisted of Christine (born July 30, 1926), Dorothy (born February 13, 1928), and Phyllis McGuire (born February 14, 1931). They were born and raised in Ohio. From an early age they sang in choirs, weddings, funerals, church revivals, at military bases and veterans' hospitals. In 1952, they appeared on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts, and as a result, Godfrey hired them for his other shows, where they remained for seven years. They became one of the most popular US vocal groups from the mid-fifties to sixties.
