Lullabye Lyrics

When the sky has fallen
Like a blanket on your shoulder
And the moon is like a mother
Looking over you foreverAnd the dawn is so familiar
You were meant to be together
Like a fog around a mountain
ForeverSo softly, so sweetly
Surrounding you completely
Sing you a lullabye, a lullabye to you
Lullabye, a lullabye to youWhen your breathing is the wind
And your crying is the rain
Well I know you will remember
Because the music is foreverThe living of a lover
And the loving of another
Like a sister and a brother
Like a father and a motherSo softly, so sweetly
Surrounding you completely
Sing you a lullabye, a lullabye to you

Lullabye, a lullabye to youWhen the sky has fallen
Like a blanket on your shoulder
And the moon is like a mother
Looking over you foreverAnd the dawn is so familiar
You were meant to be together
Like a fog around a mountain
ForeverSo softly, so close to me
You're surrounding me so beautifully
Lullabye, a lullabye to you
Lullabye, a lullabye to you
Lullabye, a lullabye to you

Concrete Blonde is an alternative rock band dating from the early 1980s to the early 1990s (and re-formed again in the 2000s). They are best known for the poignant songwriting and vocals of Johnette Napolitano. Singer / songwriter / bassist Napolitano formed the band Dream 6 with guitarist James Mankey in Los Angeles in 1982, releasing an eponymous EP in France on the Happy Hermit label in 1983. When they signed with IRS in 1986, labelmate Michael Stipe suggested the name Concrete Blonde, describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.
