May Music Be Your Wings Lyrics

Jerry Jeff WalkerLife's calling you son, time to travel on
To see the world, and to learn just how to sing your song
But as you go, though we love you so
And may the road before you be a joyous oneRight from the start, sing 'em from the heart
Let every song be part of who and where you are
And if late at night, you're feeling all alone
Then let music be the wings to carry you back homeBut if I know you, there's nothing you can't do
You always do your best when you have things to prove
Far as I can see, you're better man than me
So trust your instincts and let music set you freeAnd remember this, music is a gift
It'll be a friend through thick and thin, you can count on this
And if later on, you're feeling all alone
Then let music be the wings to carry you back homeKnow you'll get homesick, and you'll want to quit
And sometimes you'll feel like a stranger that just doesn't fit
That's when you'll know, how your song should go
When you need it most the words and music flowAnd you'll do just fine and if you give it time
Drop a line to say hello to all the friends back home
But if late at night, you're feeling all alone

Let your music be the wings to carry you back home
Yeah, let music be the wings to carry you back homeThat will take you through it all
