Memories of Old Days Lyrics

Now the wings fell to ground as the miles they were crossed
All the years seemed like days as the time it was lost
For without his solutions and reasons for why
He should come up for air to the town once his bySo soon on his way
Shadows from the pathways
Memories of old daysThat the journey was long many thoughts filled his mind
As he neared the stop always a dream he would find
But the road that he knew could no longer be seen
And the city lights flickered where lake waters gleamedWith sadness today
Hopes of joy yesterday
Memories of old daysSky and the trees of his youthful time spent
Only smoke, only paper. No colour or scentWith sadness today
Hopes of joy yesterday
Memories of old days

Gentle Giant were a British progressive rock band founded in London, United Kingdom active between 1970 and 1980. The band was known for the complexity and sophistication of its music and for the varied musical skills of its members. All of the band members, except the first two drummers, were multi-instrumentalists. Although not commercially successful, they did achieve a cult following. The band's onetime stated aim was to "expand the frontiers of contemporary popular music at the risk of becoming very unpopular," although this stance was to alter significantly with time.
