Mess Around Lyrics

Uh, yeah, come on now, Chipmunks
Bringing it back
It's been a long time
It's been a long road
But you know how we do it for you
(Come on)
Girls, we hypnotize, make them realize
Look into their eyes, it's amazing
Now we're at the top and you know we're hot
All the hits we got
Yeah, their blazing
We used to talk about it
We used to dream about it
And then we think about it
We knew we'd make it
So ladies, raise you hands and
Yeah, fellas go on in and go ahead
And plan your game and go ahead, get crazy

It's been a long time coming and we're keepin' it hot
It's been a high road, baby, but it's worth, it worth it all
When I'm out on the road, listen up
Bet you know we keep it going for you
Now I'm a gonna turn you up
'Cause you know we don't mess around
Uh, yeah, one more time
Now we don't mess around
Yeah, yeah
Baby, ladies like our sign
Fellas like our sign
We'll be here a while
Yeah, we're stayin'
'Cause we know how to rock
Know how to keep it hot
We'll give it all you got
There's no playin'
That's why we keep on singing
That's why the funky feeling
That why we wont stop dreaming
That's why you're swaying
So ladies raise your hands
And, yeah, fellas go on in and
Go ahead and plan your game
And go ahead get crazy
It's been a long time coming and were keepin' it hot
Its been a high road, baby, but its worth it, worth it all
When I'm out on the road, listen up
Bet you know we keep it going for you
Now, I'm a gonna turn you up
'Cause you know we don't mess around
Uh, yeah, what cha say now?
Now, we don't mess around
Uh, uh, yeah
Come on, girl, take it to the bridge
Chipmunks, go fly
Keep on rockin' us every night
Chipmunks so hot, keep on
Keepin' on never gonna stop
It's been a long time coming and were keepin' it hot
Its been a high road, baby, but it's worth it, worth it all
When I'm out on the road, listen up
Bet you know we keep it going for you
Now, I'm a gonna turn you up
'Cause you know we don't mess around
Its been a long time coming, baby, we cant lie
From the the hood in the west Cali-fo-i
A to the L, V to the I
N to never quitin', yo, we keepin' it live

Keep on rockin' us every night
Chipmunks so hot, keep on
Keepin' on never gonna stop
It's been a long time coming and we're keepin' it hot
It's been a high road, baby, but its worth it worth it all
When I'm out on the road, listen up
Bet you know we keep it going for you
Now, I'm a gonna turn you up
'Cause you know we don't mess around

Alvin and the Chipmunks is a five-time Grammy Award-winning animated music group, created by Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. in 1958. The group consists of three singing chipmunks: Alvin , the mischievous troublemaker, who quickly became the star of the group, Simon , the tall bespectacled intellectual, and Theodore , the chubby, impressionable sweetheart. The trio is "managed" by their human "father" and confidant, David Seville. In reality, David Seville was Bagdasarian's stage name, and the Chipmunks themselves are named after the executives of their original record label, Liberty Records: Alvin Bennett (the president), Simon Waronker (the founder and owner), and Theodore Keep (the chief engineer).

branched out into music, but that is the opposite of how they began. After first being brought to life in Bagdasarian's 1950s novelty recordings under the name David Seville and the Chipmunks, the characters were an unprecedented success, and the singing Chipmunks and their manager were given life in several animated cartoon series and motion pictures.

The voices of the group were all performed by Bagdasarian, who sped up the playback to create the higher pitched, squeaky voices. This process was not entirely new; Bagdasarian had also used it for a previous novelty song project, "The Witch Doctor", but it was so unusual and well executed it earned the "trio" two Grammy Awards for engineering. Although the characters were fictional, they did release a long line of "real" albums and singles, with "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" becoming a number-one hit single in the United States. After his death in 1972, the voices of the Chipmunks were subsequently recorded by his son, Ross Bagdasarian, Jr., and his wife, Janice Karman, in all subsequent incarnations to date.
