Million Dollar Blues Lyrics

If I ever find myself one day
Drinkin' in a dreamers cabaret
Dreams be what they seem.
Yeah I figured it must be nice
easy street in paradise,
without a care 'til the truth comes clean.Hard to make an old penny shine
Hard to untangle the line
Hard to hold a fortune of you.
Paid the price I'll never know
Walking them lonely streets of gold
with a million dollar blues.Steppin' my heels to the ol' concrete
Walkin' to the time of my heartbeat
Hopin' these soles they never wear through.
Watchin' all the workers in the street
Tamp the tar and cuss the heat,
laughin' at a joke somebody knew.Hard to make an old penny shine
Hard to untangle the line
Hard to hold a fortune of you.

Paid the price I'll never know
Walking them lonely streets of gold
with a million dollar blues.Drinkin' in a dreamers cabaret
A thousand thoughts away,
a thousand thoughts of you.Hard to make an old penny shine
Hard to untangle the line
Hard to hold a fortune of you.
Paid the price I'll never know
Walking them lonely streets of gold
with a million dollar blues.
Paid the price I'll never know
Walking them lonely streets of gold
with a million dollar blues.
