Monkey In the Family Lyrics

Its delicious the way you're walking
Go easy on your toes
There's a million and one different dances
Who do you know that knowsThere's a monkey in the family
It was trained by Adam and Eve
It was sold to your great-great-granddad and grandma
And decided it wouldn't leaveI had to make the grass more greener
I had to make the sky more blue
I had to put a stop to the Jungle Jive team
So they don't do the dance with youWhen you grow up you'll moon stomp mi lady
To moon stomp is in your blood
You'll have to make a keen decision
But you'll know everything about loveThere's a monkey in the family
Swings from tree to tree
It never stops to see how you're doing
It just has time to feedI had to make the grass more greener
I had to make the sky more blue
I had to put a stop to the Jungle Jive team

So they don't do the dance on youThere's a monkey in the family
It was trained by Adam and eve
It was sold to your great-great-granddad and grandma
And decided it wouldn't leaveI had to make the grass more greener
I had to make the sky more blue
I had to put a stop to the Jungle Jive team
So they don't do the dance with youIt's delightful the way you're walking
Be steady on those feet
Stay away from the Peppermint Twist
Where the Humpty Humpers meetThere's a monkey in the family
It was trained by Adam and Eve
It was sold to your great-great-granddad and grandma
And decided it wouldn't leaveI had to make the grass more greener
I had to make the sky more blue
I had to put a stop to the Jungle Jive team
So they don't do the dance with youThere's a monkey in the family
There's a monkey in the family
There's a monkey in the family

Happy Mondays are an alternative rock band formed in Salford, Greater Manchester, U.K. in 1985, notable for being a forerunner of the immensely popular neo-psychedelic indie dance movement (known as 'madchester' for some groups) that mashed up funk, pop, rock, and other genres. Still touring to this day, the band is fronted by Shaun Ryder, who formed the band with his bass-playing brother Paul Ryder.
