Monopoly On Sorrow Lyrics

There's a cold wind in the winter of my mind
A season that lasts through all changes in time
I try so hard, sometimes I wish there was a rain check on tomorrow
Not ready to deal with what I don't wanna findStruggling along just to hold on
I just wanna know why is it meIn a tear there is a message from the heart
Detached from the good, it's the hope gone astray
I cry so hard, sometimes, too scared to think, what will bring tomorrow
Already much more than I can handle todayI can't breathe, suffocate as I'm buried by hate
And so sadly I learn there's no justice to fate
I just wanna know why is it me
Losing the race with thoughts out of place
I just want to know why is it meYou ain't got a monopoly on sorrow
You know plenty has made it my way
You ain't got a monopoly on sorrow
There's plenty that feel [Incomprehensible] just the sameThere's a pain so insane that I fight but can't tame
And my mind battles on as my body lies lame
I can't feel the feel but it feels like it hurts
I can't feel the feel but it feels like it hurts

I can't feel the feel but it feels like it hurts, hurts, hurtsAnd I know that I know I don't know if I know if
It just would stay clear then I'd see and I'd go
I just wanna know why's it meAin't got a monopoly on sorrowYou, you, you ain't got no, no, you ain't got no, no
You ain't got no, no, you ain't got no, no
There's no monopoly on sorrow, no monopoly on sorrow
No monopoly on sorrow, no, no, no, noYou ain't got no, no, no, you ain't got no, no, no
You ain't got no, no, no, you ain't got no, no, no
No monopoly on sorrow, monopoly on sorrow
Monopoly on sorrowNo, no, no, no, no
No, no, no, no
Yo ain't got no, no, no, no, noYou ain't got no monopoly on sorrow

Suicidal Tendencies is an American crossover thrash band formed in 1982 in Venice, California. Sometimes regarded as the progenitors of skate punk, they later incorporated significant heavy metal and thrash elements. The group, led by Mike Muir ("Cyco Miko"), had a rough start that included being voted "Worst Band/Biggest Assholes" in Flipside in 1982. Using the opposition to fuel creativity, they quickly gained a following, performing larger and larger gigs. As the size grew, so did the rumors of gang relations and violence (eventually leading to a Los Angeles ban on public performances by Suicidal Tendencies). The band signed with the indie label Frontier Records and issued their classic self-titled debut in 1983. The album was the best-selling hardcore album up to that point. It included many memorable songs. The video for Institutionalized was one of the first hardcore punk videos to receive substantial airplay on MTV. It was also used in the Emilio Estevez cult classic movie Repo Man and an episode for the hit TV show Miami Vice (which included a cameo appearance by the group). Recently the track has been used in the blockbuster movie Iron Man. Their song Possessed to Skate solidified their status as a premier skate punk band. How Will I Laugh Tomorrow has become one of the band's most acclaimed songs. After lineup changes and side projects, including the Infectious Grooves, they have continued to release albums and (as of 2004) are working on a new album and a Live-DVD to be titled "Return to Venice."
Former Bass player Robert Trujillo currently plays for Metallica and former guitar player Rocky George joined Fishbone.
