More Than a Law Lyrics

I've seen that recipe, oh yeah
Lawmen and royalty
And nothing on earth can take that taste
And make it something sweetI saw the news today, oh yeah
A broken everything with years to pay
But nobody else can save us now
And that's alright by me 'cause I sayWe make love in the face of it all
Feel the freedom and the purity
And what we need is not security
Something more than a lawWe walk at night in a blind wind
Through the streets where the rich ones lived
And what we want's beyond the will to win
Something more than a lawI feel the rain on me
And I'm soaked in memory
And never will I betray that love
'Cause that's not love by meI know prosperity, oh yeah
But he could never be a part of me
The snow and the stone feeling never at home

Well, she's my poetry 'cause I sayWe make love in the face of it all
Feel the freedom and the purity
And what we need is not security
Something more than a lawWe walk at night in a blind wind
Through the streets where the rich ones lived
And what we want's beyond the will to win
It's something more than a lawAnd when we're lonely, it's more than lonely
So we turn around to say something bigger than us
But then who do you blame when your love is gone?Singing, we make love in the face of it all
Feel the freedom and the purity
And what we need is not security
Something more than a lawWe walk at night in a blind wind
Through the streets where the rich ones lived
And what we want's beyond the will to win
Something more than a lawWe make love in the face of it all
Feel the freedom and the purity
And what we need is not security

Aztec Camera was a Scottish indie pop/new wave band from Glasgow. The line-up of the band changed several times over the years, but the constant member had been guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Roddy Frame. Founding members included Campbell Owens (bass) and Dave Mulholland (drums). Ex-Bluebells bassist Craig Gannon was a member from 1983 through 1985, before joining The Smiths. Guitarist Malcolm Ross (formerly of Josef K and Orange Juice) also joined in 1983, and appeared on the Knife album.
