Mr. Lonely Lyrics

[Verse 1]
We got Debbie [?] and socialites
And mamas from the PTA
We got bags of reds dressed up in white
And little black dress divorces[Pre-Chorus]
Long live the blues
They're keeping me in business
Someone to dance, someone to party
Whatever they need, they call me
[Chorus]
Mr. Lonely, Mr. Good-Time
Mr. One-You're-Gonna-Want-On-A-Saturday-Night
When you're lonely, lying in the dark
I'm the number that you know by broken heart
No, I ain't Mr. Right, I'm Mr. Right-Now
The one all the girls are talking about
The one and only, Mr. Lonely[Verse 2]
Yeah, some are in from outta town

Just lookin' for some fun
Pour a couple thousand more
Yeah, I can be the one[Pre-Chorus]
Long live the blues
I'm backed up to November
You can find me in the book or an bathroom wall
When they all want a rendezvous they call
[Chorus]
Mr. Lonely, Mr. Good-Time
Mr. One-You're-Gonna-Want-On-A-Saturday-Night
When you're lonely, lying in the dark
I'm the number that you know by broken heart
No, I ain't Mr. Right, I'm Mr. Right-Now
The one all the girls are talking about
The one and only, Mr. Lonely[Interlude]
(Oh, play that steel, Paul)[Bridge]
So if you got a girl, you better treat her right
You better never tell a lie
You better never start a fight
'Cause when she hangs up on you
Guess who's on the other line?
It's never hard to find[Chorus]
Mr. Lonely, Mr. Good-Time
Mr. One-You're-Gonna-Want-On-A-Saturday-Night
When you're lonely, lying in the dark
I'm the number that you know by broken heart
No, I ain't Mr. Right, I'm Mr. Right-Now
The one all the girls are talking about
The one and only, Mr. Lonely
The one and only, Mr. Lonely
Long live the blues

Leeds-based producer Midland aka Harry Agius first gained attention through his well received collaborations with Pearson Sound aka Ramadanman, released on Will Saul's Aus Music imprint. Midland has also raised attention with his solo efforts for London's Phonica and More Music, all sitting comfortably between dreamy deep house, soulful techno and UK bass-influenced sounds. Teaming up with like-minded producers such as Pariah and Ben Westbeech, alongside remixes for labels like Ninja Tune or Werk Discs, Midland proves to be yet another fine example of Leeds’ ever-growing club music scene.
