Muddy Bones Lyrics

Yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeahAround the world
it's a bloody mess
It's a permanent apocalypse
Come on, dig me baby,
I can't go on like thisThis world is fulla muddy bones
hear 'em talkin' on their telephones
Everybody's startin'
to figure out what's goin' onIn a bubble all their life
A bubble full up of grief and strife
Heirs of the flagellants
spreadin' that joy aroundThis world is fulla muddy bones
hear 'em talkin' on their telephones
Everybody's startin'
to figure out what's goin' onWaitin' for little elves
If we don't try to help ourselves
Never gonna know,
just how helpless we areYeah, muddy bonesThis world is fulla muddy bones

hear 'em talkin' on their telephones
Everybody's startin'
to figure out what's goin' onWe all so friggin' naive
All the concepts we believe
While all a them grifters
was sellin' us salvation,
creation has been fleecedYeah, it's a bloody mess
Yeah, a permanent apocalypse
Yeah, the bloody bones
Yeah, yeah, yeah, muddy bones
The muddy bones
The muddy bones
A yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

The New York Dolls are a rock group formed in New York City in 1971, now famous as a protopunk band. Though they found limited success during their initial run, the New York Dolls prefigured much of what was to come in the punk rock era, particularly among other NYC bands such as the Ramones. And, even later; the Dolls' over-the-top crossdressing and sexual tone influenced the look of many glam metal groups, especially that of early Mötley Crüe and Poison, and their shambling and sloppy but highly energetic playing style set the tone for many later rock n roll bands.
