My Best Friend Lyrics

Once again I find myself asking the same old question
Why in the world have I been so stupid
Only to be let down
Only to be let down again
I thought I could make it on my own
Forgetting that I am
Forgetting that I am just a man
I put my trust in my so called friends
Only to be let down
Only to be let down again
ButChorus
You were there all the time
Waiting for me to reach out and take your hand
You picked me off of the ground
You set me back on my feet
You are my best friend
You're always right here by my side
Ready to cheer me on

You are my best friendI can't make it on my own
I realize I am just
I realize I am just a man
So I put my trust where I know it's secure
I'll never be let down
I'll never be let down again(Chorus x2)
Once again I find myself asking the same old question
Why in the world have I been so stupid
Only to be let down
Only to be let down again
I thought I could make it on my own
Forgetting that I am
Forgetting that I am just a man
I put my trust in my so called friends
Only to be let down
Only to be let down again
ButChorus
You were there all the time
Waiting for me to reach out and take your hand
You picked me off of the ground
You set me back on my feet
You are my best friend
You're always right here by my side
Ready to cheer me up
You are my best friendI can't make it on my own
I realize I am just
I realize I am just a man
So I put my trust where I know it's secure
I'll never be let down
I'll never be let down again
(Chorus x2)

Dallas-based alternative CCM band Seventh Day Slumber is led by front man Joseph Rojas, a former cocaine addict who turned to Christ in the wake of a near-fatal overdose. Teaming with guitarist Evan Weatherford, bassist Joshua Schwartz and drummer Adam Witte, he formed Seventh Day Slumber in 1996, and, upon signing to the Afinia label, the group released the album Matthew Twenty-Five three years later.
