My Biggest Mistake Lyrics

Help is on the way
Doctor says that you’re fine
Clean bill of health now
Cold crisp winter’s day
Through car windows trees rushing by
The medicines poisoned my mind
And what did you think I would say?
And how did you think I could save you?
It’s my biggest mistake
That I never did lie
I couldn’t save you
Sit and stare for hours
Wait for the morning to come
Dream is a nightmare
Helplessly entwined
Your body feels like it’s on fire
An alien love song tonight

And what did you think I would say?
And how did you think I could save you?
It’s my biggest mistake
That I never realized
I couldn’t save you

Joe Tex (Joseph Arrington, Jr., August 8, 1935 – August 13, 1982) was an American rhythm & blues singer.
He gained success in the 1960s and 1970s with his brand of Southern soul, which mixed the styles of country, gospel and rhythm and blues.
Born in Rogers, Texas, in 1935 (often misreported as 1933) and raised in Baytown, TX, Tex's career started after he was signed to King Records in 1955 following four wins at the Apollo Theater.
