N.E.O. Lyrics

N.E.O.Near Earth Object.
A solid body whose orbit lies within the orbit of Mars.Moons Asteroids. Meteorites. And human debris. You can see a meteorite almost any night.
Go out to the desertThey are pieces of stars,
You might find a piece.Same as you and meThey have travelled through space for thousands of years.Perhaps you will get luckybut you will never find a piece of Soyuzor Sputnik or Apollo 9
They are still out thereThey are very faint
And the pollution in earths atmospherewashes out their pale lightFloating without air, without light
or else - charred on the re-entryThey are still out there floatingwithin the orbit of Mars.Look at it this way:a river of space, a ribbon of timelike a burial by a beaurocratundercover of a cold war risk.a cloud of dust-a cloud of rubblespinning in space on the heels of the Hubblea parallel, or a temporal ripin the belly of the Cosmosa fossilized finger
somewhere in a hangerstored by the government, hidden from the presssome young top gun s first soloturned out to be a N.E.O.

Thomas Dolby (born Thomas Morgan Robertson; 14 October 1958 - London, UK) is an English musician and producer. He is one of the great legends of electronic music. His career as a solo artist includes two of the most unique and recognizable hits of the genre, She Blinded Me With Science and Hyperactive!. Dolby promoted himself as a kind of mad scientist, an egghead that had successfully harnessed the power of synthesizers and samplers, using them to make catchy pop and electro-funk.
