Never Me Lyrics

All's quite now on the western front
But you never know what's above you
Chances are when you're down and tired
It's a lack of what you need inside youSo they say if you play their game
Well, you'll never have much to lose
It's the life they chose and and if you're one of those
Well, you'll never have much to proveLooking up
Looking outSo you claim that you're not the same
It's just a dead end old part of town
Why pan for gold when the water's cold
You might as well lay face down and drownThen you play their game, yet you cry for change
And you always seem to miss your turn
You let them make your bed rest your weary head
On a mattress that's been set to burnLooking up
Looking out
Reaching in
Let it outThat will never be me
I will always be free

That will never be me
I will always be freeLooking up
Looking out
Reaching in
Let it outLooking up
Looking out
Reaching in
Let it outThat will never be me
I will always be free
That will never be me
I will always be freeRaise your heads
Open eyes
Smash down walls
See the lies, see the lies
See the lies, see the lies

Among the youngest bands ever to storm the metal genre, Death Angel has come to be known as one of the most influential bands to emerge from the thriving bay area thrash metal Scene in the early 1980s, an era when one could catch Cliff Burton at the front of the stage at Ruthie's Inn banging his head to Death Angel's inventive style, and speedy, complex arrangements. In 1986, a Death Angel demo produced by Kirk Hammett titled "Kill As One" sparked the interest of Enigma Records. Then, in 1987, Death Angel's debut, The Ultra Violence, was released.
