Night People Lyrics

Night people hanging out, looking at each other
Waiting for something to happen
Night people hanging out, looking at each other
Waiting for something to happenWhile the day world is sleeping
Night people are creeping, hanging out, looking at each other
When the day world stops moving
Night people start grooving, hanging out, looking at each otherWhen the day bees stop buzzing
Night people start coming, hanging out
Waiting for something to happen
Night people hanging out, looking at each other
Waiting for something to happenYou dont get one thing without the other, we got to keep the world alive
If everybody went to sleep at the same time, howd we keep the world alive?
In a word, we got the night people
Night people hanging out, looking at each other
Waiting for something to happenGot to see who is with you
Who is with me, who is with who
Were hanging out looking at each other
Got to see whatcha wearing, whatcha got

Whatcha sharing, hanging out
Waiting for something to happenAs the day world goes by
Night people doing fine, hanging out, looking at each other
When the day world starts humping
Night people start pumping, hanging out
Waiting for something to happenNight people hanging out, looking at each other
Waiting for something to happen
Night people hanging out, looking at each other
Waiting for something to happenNight people grooving, hanging out
Night people grooving, night people grooving
Night people grooving, night people grooving
Night people grooving

Robert Allen Palmer (January 19, 1949 – September 26, 2003), born in Batley, Yorkshire, England, was a British singer. He was known for his soulful voice and the eclectic mix of musical styles on his albums, combining soul, jazz, rock, reggae, blues, and even yodeling.

His eighties hits were promoted by particularly striking award winning videos, featuring an all-female, black-clad backing band. The memorable videos, directed by Terence Donovan, featured heavily on MTV and played a large part in his transatlantic success.

His eighties success was kickstarted by his participation in supergroup The Power Station, along with Andy Taylor and John Taylor of Duran Duran and Tony Thompson of Chic.

Robert Palmer died on September 26, 2003 in Paris, France, while staying at the Warwick de berri Hotel. The cause of death was of a heart attack. He was in Paris promoting his Drive CD which had been released in May of 2003. He was joined there by his longtime friend, Jack Bruce. Robert Palmer was engaged to Geraldine Edwards at the time of his death.
