No Change Lyrics

Can you hear the sound
of the fiddle and the drum ?
passing them fade
Can you hear the sound
of chanting in the streets ?
screaming for better days.you've heard it all
yes, we've all heard it all
but tell me what has changed
you've seen it all
we've all seen it all
so tell me what has changed.and the palace stays the same
only the guards ever change
so lay me downyou've heard the singer
sing proud their songs
telling us what is wrongyou've read the books
that say where to look
well, where's the answers goneyou've seen it all
yes, we've all seen it all

but tell me what has changedbut the palace stays the same
only the guards ever change
so lay me down

The Levellers are a popular English rock band influenced by punk and traditional English music. They are based in Brighton, England where they were founded in 1988. There are several stories regarding how they got their name; from the Levellers, a radically democratic faction of Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army; as a reference to "The Level", a flat open space near where members of the band used to live in Brighton; or simply, according to guitarist, Simon Friend, a word they chose from a dictionary.
